Meet Alexis Hipp LMSW

Specializing in Anxiety, Depression, & Life Transitions for Adults in Pasadena, MD

About Alexis Hipp

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Maryland. I value the ability to have open and honest communication through meeting you where you are at currently. Everything is going to take time, and I value my your time; and pace at which you are comfortable working with me.

I value the ability to have brief moments of demonstrating a human connection with you, especially when things are starting to get difficult. If those brief moments of human connection are a quick joke, a laugh, or something that is present-in the moment of joy. I value the idea that you may be hesitant in starting something new and/or wanting to begin just the conversation for something that may be difficult.

My experience has been working at an adult day center for older adults with dementia and it will forever have a special place in my heart. I also worked briefly during my graduate program as a government contractor for the Navy, which connected me to working in a more corporate setting and building rapport with civilians supporting the government.

My Approach

My approach incorporates Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and CBT. I love DBT skills and use trauma informed therapy. I am a beginner learner of IFS (Internal Family Systems) and I’m loving it!

Clients who work best with me

My ideal client would be someone who is prepared to begin doing some heavy lifting, but also can take days off.

Clients who have been wanting to explore something else, first time clients as well.

The clients who are wanting to begin incorporating something new into their lives, especially MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) since it begins the basis of what is working for them to be more present if they are future oriented.

Fun facts about me

I love reading (I often begin with books from booktok/instagram or a good informative book for practice), hiking/being outdoors, going for walks with my dog, Aoife. I can often be found laughing, or listening to funny podcasts. I am trying to garden more, but definitely enjoyed the winter break.
