About Ashley Steimer
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland. I have spent the last 4 years working in hospital and crisis centers supporting clients with high needs. This work has shown me the many challenges that we all face but also the resiliency that humans have to work through their struggles.
Learning many different skills and strategies has helped me build my own tool box when it comes to helping others. There is no one way to support someone, nor is there a right way to do this work. On our journey, we will work together to find strategies that work for you throughout your healing process.

I approach working with clients by creating a space for trust, openness, and authenticity which I feel is imperative in creating a strong foundation for the work we will do. I encourage clients and will support clients by meeting them where they are at in order to create a safe space.
I take a client-centered approach and I believe in meeting clients where they are in order to dive deep to find meaning and healing through my clients’ experience. I connect with clients by being friendly and warm and using humor when appropriate.
My approach to therapy incorporates mind and body by using principles from CBT, DBT and mindfulness-based techniques through a trauma-informed lens. I also use motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy.
Clients who work best with me
√ Clients who are invested in the process.
√ Clients who are motivated to work in and out of our sessions.
√ Clients who are ready to try new things and willing to look deep inside themselves to experience growth and change.
Fun facts about me
