Specializing in Grief, Anxiety, Life Transitions, and Self-Exploration for adults in Pasadena, MD

About Casey Dressel

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland. I have been in the field for the past 11 years. I have spent several of those years focused on medical/hospice clients supporting them through the grief process.

In my previous employment, I was honored to sit with so many wonderful humans who were there to support their loved ones in passing. Death and loss is never an easy experience, it can feel isolating and lonely. To be involved with those experiences provided me with an amazing foundation of compassion and empathy for the experience.

My Approach

I would describe by style as down to earth, open & honest, and a safe place for one to share about themselves. I also describe myself as a guide to my clients to support and explore their journey of change, self-discovery, and/or management of their circumstances.

Building rapport is key to a successful therapeutic relationship. It is important for me to get to know my clients, their likes, dislikes, important relationships, culture, and anything that makes them unique. My clients are more than their presenting problem and getting to know them helps me identify their strengths to support their path to healing and change.

My approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Approaches, Strengths-Based Approach, and Dual Process Model of Grief.

Clients who work best with me

√ Clients who are open and receptive to receiving support and guidance through counseling.

√ Clients who are able to be honest, authentic, and vunerable.

√ Clients who are able to communicate their needs so that we can navigate their struggles and develop a plan.

Taking long walks in nature and meditation fill my cup!
