What is Parenting the Love and Logic Way®

Looking for some additional tools to put in your parenting tool box? Frustrated with your kids because they are not listening? Do you just need to be around other parents who find themselves struggling as well? Good news, this is the place to be!

Parenting the Love and Logic Way® is unique and fun. It’s a different way of looking at how you parent, focusing a lot on empathy and avoiding power struggles with your kids.

The workshop is based on 4 fundamental principles that ultimately help you find an easier way to parent. First and foremost, we avoid shaming parents for how you currently parent. Instead, we give you suggestions and make it a positive learning experience.

Since 1977, the Love and Logic Institute has been dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic.

We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children and help them prepare their kids for the real world. All of our work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic.

What will you learn in Love and Logic®

Participants will learn how to put an end to arguing, back talk and begging. Love and Logic® teaches how to set limits without waging war while avoiding power struggles along the way.

Parents will also learn to teach responsibility without losing their child’s love while guiding them to solve their own problems.

Love and Logic ® will also give you strategies to teach kids to complete chores without reminders and without pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do both parents/guardians need to be present?

It’s ideal to have both parents/guardians but not necessary.

My child is defiant, will Love and Logic help me?

There are many reasons why kids are defiant. Love and Logic can help you identify some ways to navigate difficult behavior but it’s not therapy. Therapy can help not only the child work through their problems individually but the family system can work to mend any wounds that have come from the defiant behaviors.

Does Love and Logic ask me to change my beliefs/values as a parent?

Absolutely not. One of the fundamental tenants of Love and Logic is that your actions will be based off of your values & beliefs as a parent/guardian. Using those values & beliefs you will learn to adjust the way you handle situations accordingly.
